(Please print this page and check off the steps as you complete them)

  Backup your 2.81 data.

Download and install the latest 2.81 update.

If you haven't done so recently, remove breaks, billed and unbilled spots, and extra verified spots in your 2.8 system. Use your normal procedures, but make sure to answer yes to rebuild as you remove.

Rebuild your 2.8 database, skipping the breaks.dta, schedule.dta, and verisave.dta.

Convert your report layouts. Run surpcvta, surpcvtc, surpcvti, surpcvtv, surpcvtp, surpcvt2, surpcvtt, surpcvtm, surpcvtz, surpcvtr, surpcvtq.

Install 3.3, specifying the database location as C:\Smt\Db. DO NOT specify your current data directory.

Download and execute the data convert module, Cvt2833.exe. Logon to the new database created above (leave the user name and password blank), specify the old and new data directories, and press the copy button. Press the Do Qry button next, then close the form when "complete" is displayed in the status bar.

Logon to the Update module from Start/Summit Software/Update. Leave the user name and password blank. Call Support for the FTP password.  Download any available updates.  Close the module.

Logon to the Utility module from Start/Summit Software/Utility. Leave the user name and password blank. Click on Convert Tables, and convert the tables that have active buttons. Close the module.

Logon to the Summit For Windows main module from Start/Summit Software/Summit For Windows. Leave the user name and password blank. Select Define Users under the Utility Menu. Enter your 3.3 users. Remove the blank user, or change the name and password on that record. Assign access rights to each user. Close the module.

Select Define Channels/Groups from the main utility menu. Select Channel data entry. Verify all of your channels are there. Select Channel Group/Zone data entry. If there is no 10001 group add it. Make sure channel 1 is a member of this group. Select Rebuild Channel/Group Xref. Close the module.

If you are using the Automation/Insertion module, review system configuration settings. Correct as necessary.
