The Summit Extend Schedules Module extends active schedules within your Summit system. In extending active schedules, you allow the system to automatically fill with current avail and contract spot information. The date through which you are extended has great bearing on a number of functions that the system carries out. For example, avails reports are accurate only if the report dates include active schedule dates. With this in mind, you must activate enough schedules to provide the reports and schedules that you want, but you don't want to go too far out because some other functions can be slowed. A good compromise is to keep a rolling 12 or 13 months out.
Note: For best system security, it is recommended that this module only be installed on a supervisor’s workstation. Note: The extend schedules function is sensitive to changes on your hard drive. Once you have begun extending schedules, DO NOT re-boot your computer or use CTRL-ALT-DEL to end schedule processing. Summit needs some processing time to complete this activity. The time required depends on the following: · The amount of data in your system · The number of active schedules that you request 1. Set the channels for which you are extending active schedules by selecting the appropriate radio button in the Select Channels panel. (see Restrictions: All/Include/Exclude) 2. Next, set the date through which to extend. (see Selecting Dates) 3. After making sure your selections are correct, press the Start button Note: The status bars at the bottom of the module will display the progress of this action. While the system is extending active schedules, it may appear that the module is inactive. Please allow it a few moments to begin before attempting to close out of the module. 4. When the schedules have been successfully extended the module’s status bars will indicate its completion by showing completely filled.
5. You may then log off or exit the module, if desired, and resume business as usual. Schedules/logs for the dates extended may then be viewed and edited in the Traffic module. |
