Logon
To access any of the system modules, you must first logon to your database.
This selects the database to connect to and determines the
user permissions for access to that database. In any module, select Logon from either the File menu
or the button on the Toolbar. You are presented with one of the forms shown
below as determined by your installation..

Standalone workstation, single database

Standalone workstation, multiple databases

Network server, single database

Network server, multiple databases

Combo standalone and network server, multiple databases
1. If you are on a multi-user system enter or select the name of
the server to connect to. Leave this field blank if you are on a
combo system and want to connect to the local workstation.
2. If you have more than one database, select the name of the desired database (e.g. Summit).
4. Enter your Summit User Name or User Number. This field is case-sensitive.
5. Enter your Summit password. This field is case-sensitive.
6. Press the "OK" button. You will be connected
to the database you specified. (You will not be connected if you are not
authorized access to that database or if you enter an incorrect user name or
password).
7. Press the "Cancel" button to terminate the
logon.
8. Press the "Help" button for these instructions.

Logoff
To change to a different database, you must log off the current database. In any module, select Logoff from either the File menu
or the button on the Toolbar. You are presented with a dialog as shown below.

Select the “Yes” button to
terminate connection to the database and keep the module open. You can then logon to a different database.
Select the ”No” or the “Cancel” button to close the dialog
and remain connected to the current database.

Exit
To close the module you are working in, select Exit from the File menu
or the close button on the main form. You are presented with a dialog as shown
below.

Select the “Yes” button to
terminate connection to the database and close the module. Select the ”No”
or the “Cancel” button to close the dialog and keep the module open
and connected to the current database.
