The database engine we use is Pervasive.SQL, (2000i sp 4, or V8.1 and above). You will need to purchase and install the server engine. Please refer to Pervasive's documentation to follow the appropriate engine install instructions (available online at http://www.pervasive.com/support/technical/online_manuals.asp). CAUTION: if you have installed any software that uses a previous version of Pervasive or Btrieve (especially v6.15), check with that vendor to make sure it is compatible with the latest version of Pervasive.
Please print this page and check off the steps as you complete them.
Follow the instructions as presented by the installation wizard. For the installation destination directory, specify the Smt forlder as shown in the default. This should be within the share created above. e.g. the destination directory would be C:\Summit\Smt on a Windows server, Y:\Smt on a Linux server where Y is the drive letter on the client that is mapped to the share. Specify the database destination directory as Db within the Smt directory specified above, e.g. Y:\Smt\Db or C:\Summit\Smt\Db.
At the end of the installation process, you will be prompted to create your ODBC database and download your license key file from your folder on the Summit FTP site.
Note: Pressing the Do Later buttons will cancel this operation. Do this only if instructed by Support. You will have to execute this function (muinst.exe) from your Smt\Modules folder and complete the process (or do it manually) before logging into the system.
