The Summit eReport module provides remote reporting access via email. Any email server can be used, no special system is required. This module may be executed on a standalone system, any client pc with access to the server, or on the server itself if it's an NT server. You don't have to have a dedicated email account, but it is recommended. It could be something like: reports@kdro.net

This module is a good option for those that don't want to use the web based remote reporting module, avoiding the costs associated with acquiring, installing, and maintaining a web server.

After configuring the system, to use, execute this module, press Start and minimize it. Press the Cancel button to stop processing and return to manual mode. You can watch progress on the Get Messages tab. Every message process is logged in the system log file for you to review if you wish.

Remote requests are made by sending email messages to the engine's account, putting the request in the subject line, and putting optional parameters in the body of the message. The report is returned to the sender via email.

Getting Help

Available Reports

You can demo this system by sending requests to summitsoftware@frontier.net. The engine will not be available all the time - if you don't get a reply, send a message to support or the webmaster and we'll turn it on for you.

Reports Tab

This tab is used to enable specific reports and to provide access security.

Field Descriptions

Report Name: check the box to enable access to that report.

Full Rpt Access Level: assign an access level to allow access to the full report. Optional.

AE Match Access Level: assign an access level to allow access to only the specific requestor's data. Optional.

Password: assign a password that must be specified to access the report. Optional.

For example, you may want the Sales Manager to be able to get a full advertiser list, but want the individual AEs to only get their client list. In the Define Users module, the manager would be assigned an access level of 75, and the AEs a 45. Then put a 70 into the Full Rpt field, and a 40 in the AE Match field for that report.
